Helping to raise much needed funds
Charity and giving back to our community are a very important part of life that David’s Cake Craft sincerely embraces.
From back garden jumble sales in the 1970’s helping raise funds for Help the Aged and Spina Bifida charities to creating cakes with the support of Celebrity clients, helping to raise money for charity is something that is very close to David’s heart.
In 2002, David’s world came crashing down when his Dad, Roy was diagnosed with terminal melanoma skin cancer. It was during his Dad’s illness he was made aware of the how charities help others.
“Seeing the MacMillan Nurses helping my Mum and Dad with support, care and unconditional love made me truly realise how important it is that we should support charities” says David.
To support and raise awareness
As well as supporting We are MacMillan Cancer Support based in UK, David also became aware of overseas charities Feeding Hong Kong and ARTM Rehabilitation for Drug Users and also Alzheimers Society which he supported during visits to Hong Kong, Macau and Malaysia.
Giving speeches and live demonstrations, donating cakes for auction at benefit galas and supporting local community groups with free cake decorating classes, David is very passionate about supporting charities as much as he can.
” I never forget who I am and where I am from. I have been very blessed to have been given so many wonderful opportunities in life which I am truly grateful for. Seeing first hand others who are less fortunate through circumstance really makes one realise how precious this life I live really is and this makes me more determined to help make a difference and support charities as and when I can” says David.
