Learn how to decorate a beautiful personalised fondant covered celebration cake design, finished as simply or as ornately as you choose. Personalise your creation with a free-hand Royal Icing piped name and/or greeting, completing your design with fine piping and dainty Royal Icing piped flowers.
Stunning Royal Icing Wedding Cake Tier with Suspended Piping and String Work
Learn how to pipe spectacular suspended collar effects with Royal Icing as you create a stunning wedding cake design decorated with suspended string work and fine piped detail that will add drama and high value to a bespoke wedding or celebration cake design.
David will address how this single tier wedding cake design could be recreated in a multi-tiered stacked or separated format.
Intricate Fine Detailing with Royal Icing and Buttercream
Learn how to design and decorate a selection of intricate wedding cake border patterns with both Royal Icing and Buttercream using super fine piping tips.
David will be teaching how to create a selection of designs without requiring stencils, addressing flat and vertical piping, allowing you to apply the technique directly on top and on the sides of wedding and celebration cakes.
Luxurious Script Letter Piping with Royal Icing and Buttercream
Embracing both Royal Icing and buttercream, learn luxurious script letter piping techniques as you pipe a name embellished with beautiful detailing.
Suspended Royal Icing String Work Cascade for Wedding Cakes
Join David, Edward and fellow students as they take on a fun, but most educational challenge with endless creative possibilities – to create a spectacular suspended 2ft cascade of Royal Icing string work, complete with dainty over-piped flowers.
As this type of structure may need finishing off at a wedding venue, possibly in front of venue staff and wedding guests, this piping project will give us confidence and an understanding of the structural engineering of the creative art piece, along with having to deal with those intense creative emotions of jeopardy while performing this piping technique in a public place.
David will share with you technical cake decorating advice and time saving tips…
How he makes Royal Icing using egg whites, meringue powder and instant mixes while addressing all the technical aspects.
David will address the consistencies required for both Royal Icing and buttercream cake decorating techniques used during the creation of your unique design projects.

During the course David teaches free-hand techniques for both left and right handed students

David reassures students that he speaks slowly during the course, and also, as what he does is very visual, it is easy to learn his technique through watching his demonstrations.

All equipment and materials are supplied along with complimentary light beverages and snacks served during the event. This 1 day course includes a 30 minute lunch break.
Minimum Age Requirement
The minimum age requirement for a student to attend a David’s Cake Craft cake decorating course is 18 years of age.
Celebrating your creative achievements
At the end of the course you will be presented with an official ‘David’s Cake Craft Certificate of Achievement’ personally signed by David.
At the end of the course you are welcome to take home your cake design creations
After your masterclass experience you will be able to take home your creations and admire your achievement as well as use them for a future reference point as you practice and evolve in your cake decorating skills.
